Mesut started following the work of Jenny Macleod, University of Hull, History.
Mesut I retired from the Turkish Military and will continue my academic life as a civilian scholar. More to come!

About
I'm currently trying to finish three projects. These are:
1. "Ottoman Military Renaisance: Confronting the Balkan Defeats". It is the initial step of a big project. I'm planning to introduce the Ottoman military literature about the Balkan defeats.
2. Publication of an Ottoman reserve officer (ihtiyat zabiti) memoir in English. It is a joint project. The unpublished Ottoman manuscript is already transliterated. I'm right now translating it into English. But in order to explain Ottoman genre of memoirs (esp. military officer memoirs) I'll add a long introduction, lots of describtive footnotes and an annex.
3. Publication of a Mansure period military manual/drill book. It is a book project. The text is already transliterated. I'm working on a long introduction about Ottoman manuals and Ottoman way of transmission of military know-how. I still do not decide to translate the Ottoman text into English. It is the publisher's request.
